NJ Jesters D3 Team take 3rd Place at Top Gun EPPL
Posted on December 9, 2010
On November 28th we attended the premier event of the ECPPL at Top Gun. It was a blast, the day was cold as hell which made the paint situation terrible but other than that things ran pretty smoothly. We made it into the top four where we met Obnoxious who was playing some great ball, we were ready to avenge our prelims loss. Unfortunatley it wasn’t to be as we received 4 penalties in the game. Hats off to them they played some great ball, it was unfortunate that we didn’t get to play a straight up game though. So we got relegated to play for third against FACK who was also playing some great ball. Conor and Jordan being our senior members came out super pissed this game and played like demons. But I have to give special credit to Canadian Ryan who played nasty all day. In the last overtime point in which it was a 2v2, and both teams had the same positions, he singlehandedly shot the last two players winning us Third place. I’d like to personally thank everybody that showed up who wasn’t playing just to support. We had more staff than players, and that’s what it’s all about, sticking together and giving it all for the good of the team no matter what your role is that day. Great work to everybody, I l know we’re only truly content with first but it was a great effort, especially with the ridiculous amount of penalties and paint issues. Keep up the hard work, as GW says it’s time to DOMINATE.

Ego 11 Technical Specification Following the trends in paintball and being able to react and respond to them in a way that benefits the player in a positive way is a difficult thing to achieve. Being able to provide a product that is all things to all men is even harder. Planet Eclipse have always prided itself on being able to react quickly, give the customer what they want, when they want it, and to give users the flexibility to have their marker just how they like it. This philosophy has never been more evident than it is in the New Ego11. Over the past 18 months you will have seen Planet Eclipse taking steps to help improve the “feel” of the marker during play, as well as to improve the ability of the markers to handle super brittle tournament paint. Controlling the speed of the bolt in any marker is the key to achieving improved feel, reduced sound signature, and more gentle handling of the paintball within the marker. The more gentle the acceleration and deceleration of the system, the smoother the marker feels. But of course doing so does have its drawbacks. For example by slowing the cyclic speed of the marker, you also reduce the rate of fire. As with many things in life there is a trade off. As we look to improve the feel of the marker on one hand, we inhibit it in terms of outright speed on the other. But what if you want your Ego to shoot fast like Egos used to shoot? If the marker is tuned for smoothness, how do you get the speed? What if you want to shoot 15bps but want it smooth? What if you only care about shooting 12bps because that’s all you can use with PSP rules but want it to be as smooth as possible? How can you cave all these things in one solitary marker? Well until now, it just wasn’t possible without making major, time-consuming physical changes to the pneumatic system of the marker, or even re-machining parts to allow different dynamic characteristics of a marker. But not now. Not any more. The Ego11 comes equipped with an industry first. A bespoke solenoid manufactured by MAC Valves USA that incorporates twin flow control devices. Etched into the side of the solenoid body is easy to make out the two incremented scales. Below the scales are two one-quarter turn Solenoid Flow Controls. These Solenoid Flow Controls, fitted with pointer and limit stops, can now be used to independently control both the forward and rearward speed of the Rammer. For the first time ever in a poppet marker the user can now tune the speed, feel and rate of fire of their own marker with a simple twist of an adjuster. In the time it takes you to turn off your tourney lock, the Ego11 can be switched from a high speed, max ROF, uncapped, free-for-all machine, into the softest, gentlest, smoothest shooting capped PSP poppet you have ever felt. Or how absolutely anything in between?! The analogue adjustment means infinite control of the speed of the bolt and rammer in either direction giving unprecedented influence over the dynamic characteristics of each marker. It looks like you really can have your cake and eat it with the Ego11. But the solenoid is not the only place that has a complete overhaul. Take a look around the grip frame and there are several things that should jump out. Like the new POPS ASA. POPS stands for Push On Purge System and is a completely new concept in On/Off/Purging ASAs. The idea is simple. Just push back on the front “Bonnet” section of the POPS and this depresses the pin in your tank, gasses up the marker, and then latched itself into place. Gassing up the marker takes a fraction of a second. Once gassed up the bonnet stays in position until the pushbutton on the side of the POPS bonnet is depressed, at which point the bonnet pops forward and the marker purges its air. Again, de-gassing takes a fraction of a second and very little effort. The new POPS also features, of course, T-Slot mounting to the frame, but this time with longer adjustment range than the previous Eclipse ASAs. It also hosts front porting for the first time on an Eclipse ASA, as well as new fittings that require Loctite or tape to seal in and can be removed quickly and easily with a hex key. The new fitting takes air via the shortened macroline hose into a new angled swivel on the exceptional SL3 regulator which also comes with one of the new fittings. The SL3 regulator should need little introduction at this point. It was first seen on the SLS from last season and then went on to appear on the Geo2. The SL3 reg retains all of the simplicity of the old Eclipse regulators, but also throws in a load of new features and even better performance. Notably the regulator has a new seal system that means the regulator seal can now be flipped or replaced if required, and is more durable to start with. No piston replacement needed with this new design. The regulator also performs far superiorly across a very wide range of input pressures. You can run HP or LP tank, flipping between the 2 without any effect on marker velocity. The benefit of this added stability is even more evident when it comes down to the game, where you can shoot the Ego11 at full velocity right down to the last 200-300psi in the tank. You can really squeeze every last bit of performance out of your system. Those who are observant may also notice a new spacing between the SL3 reg and the grip frame. The inclusion of the new solenoid has given the Ego11 the opportunity to spread its stance a little. The frame has been moved backwards allowing more room between the front regulator and the trigger guard. Just enough to add some additional support and control to the marker, but not enough to forsake the compact dimensions and sharp handling that Ego users have become so accustomed to. The Ego11 has some other quite interesting changes to the ergonomics of the frame. The new frame profile along with, yet again, a higher grip position combine with an all-new grip that is actually sunk into the frame around most of its perimeter. These in turn with a brand new co-molded console that runs all the way up the back of the frame to add comfort and grip. Slimmer in the middle section of the grips, and with grippy rubber running down the back of the frame, the look and feel of the Ego11 is still fresh. Simple mechanical changes ensure that the grip screws clamp down firmly into place without the chance of crushing the grips or, more importantly, some delicate internal component. Of course inside the frame there still lies the ubiquitous Eclipse circuit board, fitted with extra large tru-color backlit LCD module, sounding device, triple external pushbuttons, micro and opto sensing triggers, 16-bit processor and expansion port that allows connection to PC with the optional E-Portal2 kit. With all the adjustability and functionality you could ever need, the range of adjustment on the Ego11 is simply breathtaking. Refill counters, ROF indicators, timers, audible beeper, debounce presets, RF enabled, you name it, the Ego11 board will do it or support it. And when combined with the new direct acting solenoid, the prioritized drive circuitry will ensure that shot-to-shot consistency and rate of fire accuracy are the very best they can be. Also inside the frame, and in charge of actuating the micro and opto switches on the board, is a new trigger, with new bearing carrier, and new spring system. The trigger has 5 points of adjustment. Forward travel, rearward travel, magnetic return strength, spring return strength and finally micro-switch actuation point. Designed in the ever-popular S-style, the trigger has the smooth, slop-free action that has been the backbone of Eclipse markers for years. It’s wide range of adjustability and option of magnetic or spring return make it quick and easy to set up to any individuals liking without the need break the gun apart to get at adjusters. As with everything in an Eclipse marker, simplicity is key. Internally the Ego11 boasts the Zick2 kit, the Cure3 bolt, the same adjustable LPR found on SLs as well as the LP protection vent that was found in the Ego10. All highly proven, tournament winning components. And up front, you’ll find the new Shaft4 barrel in 14”, 0.689” bore configuration that has been receiving outstanding reviews since its launch on the Geo2 earlier this year. Re-designed for better efficiency and consistency, and ported for reduced sound signature, there really is no need to replace exceptional, stiff arbour honed, premium barrel. Finally, the Ego11 comes packaged in a new zippered case, which includes in its contents a full hex key set, oil, barrel sock, full-color 84-page manual, and a comprehensive spares kit that includes regulator components, o-rings, detents, springs and screws. The Ego11 has been developed and created with the soul intention of giving the modern player the things they most desire in a modern paintball marker. A smoother shot. A quieter sound signature. Outstanding Efficiency. Unparalleled reliability. Simplicity. Industry-Leading Customer Service. Ergonomics. And built-in User Adjustability and choice. All from a company that whatever the situation, whatever the occasion, will always have your back. The Ego11. Born of the Player. Eclipse Geo2 Technical Specification It has been over 18 months since the release of the original Geo. In that time the popularity of the marker has been growing in leaps and bounds. With the arrival of upgrades such as the GR-2 Kit and more recently the GST kit, the Geo has developed and matured into a class act, and as such has been picked up and used by an ever increasing number of players. This year sees a near 50/50 spilt between Ego and Geo usage amongst our Pro and Semi-Pro teams. That in its self should be endorsement enough. But, as with anything in life, we believe there is still room for improvement. Both in terms of ergonomics, features, and performance; the Geo2 will further define what is possible from the Geo platform. Taking the knowledge acquired and the feedback gleaned since the launch of Geo, the Geo2 has been modified in virtually every area. From efficiency, to balance, to electronics and regulation, the Geo has been improved, and in key areas such as the ability to shoot the most fragile paint possible, the Geo2 simply excels…… Key Features: 1. Gen2 Propshaft Assembly – The Geo2 comes with a completely new Propshaft Assembly. The design introduces a spring-loaded Drive Core. This Drive Core prevents air loss both on the firing stroke of the bolt, leaving residual, previously wasted air trapped in the valve chamber, as well as ensuring the valve chamber is fully sealed prior to re-filling on the return stroke of the bolt. This results in better efficiency and faster recharge of the valve chamber. The New Finned Propshaft Tip helps keep the propshaft and bolt concentric at all times. 2. SL3 In-Line Regulator – The SL3 regulator is more accurate, more consistent, with less creep and faster recharge than any previous Eclipse Regulator. On top of that it will allow the Geo2 to operate with LP, MP or HP tanks with no fluctuation in performance or velocity. Switch from HP tank to LP tank without needing to adjust the regulator. The New design means that the Geo2 will shoot down to the last 200psi of tank pressure with next-to-zero loss in velocity. The new SL3 regulator also has reversible and replaceable reg seal. 3. Shaft4 Barrel – The Shaft4 has been developed specifically to improve efficiency and consistency. By manipulating the length and bore of the rear control bore section the new barrel gives higher velocities than older Shaft barrels for the same settings. This leads to an improvement in efficiency and consistency as well as reducing the sound signature of the marker. 4. Geo2 GST Bolt Assembly – After the phenomenal success of the GST kit for the Geo, the Geo2 receives the same treatment as standard. GST Can and GST Geo2 bolt now work in conjunction with the new sprung Drive Core to further reduce recoil and sound signature, making the Geo2 supremely smooth and quiet. 5. 2010 Circuit Board – New Circuit Board has 92% larger LCD screen with adjustable backlight colour. Optimised solenoid drive circuitry offering increased accuracy of Dwell and ROF control. 16-bit, 16mips PIC microprocessor. Micro and Opto trigger sensing. New GUI (Graphical User Interface). 6. E-Portal Connectivity – Capable of connecting the Geo2 to a PC giving the ability to upload Firmware, make Splash Screens and remotely adjust parameters. (Requires Optional USB Adaptor, Software and Cable) 7. Wider Frame-to-Reg Spacing – An increase in the stance of the Geo2 changes the basic feel of the marker and allows higher rear hand placement. New 2010 bearing carrier also allows higher trigger placement to match the higher rear hand position resulting in a more instinctive and pointy feel to the marker. Of course these are just some of the headline changes to the Geo2. On top of these there are the dominant Geo features that have been brought through to the latest creation, such as the ISCIS valve system, low dynamic seal count, Cure bolt technology, Deftek feed, Break-Beam Sensor System, OOPS ASA, Clamping feed, tool-less maintenance as well as access to the Planet Eclipse Technical and Customer Support network making teching a breeze. The primary changes combined with the core Geo and Planet Eclipse values take the Geo2 to the next level. To make it one of the smoothest, quietest, efficient, well balanced, lightest, reliable spool valve markers on sale today, and to nail it firmly into upper echelons of high-end paintball equipment.

Planet Eclipse Ego SLS
posted on February 19, 2010

The new SLS Ego price is $1795.00 and it is definitly worth every penny for this customized, pimp out Ego. With the Ego10 launched late 2009 and claimed by many to be the best Ego to date, and by some margin, it would seem faintly ridiculous to presume that the new SL could improve on the platform any further. But with application and direction the team responsible for the development of the Eclipse line of markers have managed to come up with a package that pushes the development of the Ego line ever forward. Every previous SL has been distinguishable by its blend of swooping exterior lines and light-weight design. There is no exception here. Yes, the SLS may have eschewed some of its classic nose-to-tail features and replaced them with individual body strakes, but the concept of a cohesive design theme through the marker remain. As of course does the diminutive size and weight. At only 834g with barrel, battery and OOPS, the SLS retains its position as the lightest high-end marker available for sale. But of course the SL has always been about more than just looks and weight. The SL is also used to showcase new and exciting technology from the Eclipse development team. And this year is no different. The SLS has seen enhancements in three key areas: - A new SL3 In-Line Regulator and Regulator mount - Modification of the Cure3+ with inclusion of three different Bolt Inserts - The introduction of full SLS-to-PC communications The latter of those upgrades is made possible through proprietary software in the form of the E-Portal. The E-Portal is an application that provides a means of communicating with an Eclipse SLS through the familiar Windows(tm) environment and will give the user control over all aspects of the SLS firmware. It will be possible to: - Upgrade the Electronic Firmware From time to time Eclipse will release new versions of the firmware that controls the operation of the Eclipse SLS. This may be to add new features to the current firmware; to improve existing features; to fix bugs in the current firmware; or to accommodate changes in major league rules affecting the way that markers are allowed to operate. The latest version of firmware will be downloadable from the Planet Eclipse website and programmable into the SLS using E-Portal. - Manage the Control Parameters E-Portal will display all of the SLS' Control Parameters in one easy-to-read list. Parameters can be read from the SLS, modified and saved for future use. User presets can also be created for different firing mode configurations and saved for future use. - Customise the Start-Up Splash Screen E-Portal provides a simple way to create images that can be transferred to the Eclipse SLS in order to personalise the start-up screen. These images can be saved for future use or shared with friends and team-mates. Sample images are also available for download from the Planet Eclipse website. Where the E-Portal offers enhanced control of the electronics, the new SL3 Regulator gives enhanced control of the pneumatics. The SL3 regulator is a completely new, from the ground up, design of In-Line regulator for Eclipse. Eclipse regulators have always been renowned for their reliability, simplicity and robustness. The SL3 obviously has all of those attributes, but now is even more accurate, has better stability when dealing with fluctuating or decaying input pressure, and has a higher flow capability. Not only that, the all-new seal configuration is now both reversible and replaceable by the user, should the main seal ever become contaminated. All of these features mean that the output of the regulator (the pressure that governs the markers velocity) is now even more tightly controlled over a far wider range of supply pressures from the tank. This means velocity remains stable right down to the last few hundred psi on the tank, giving you more usable shots per fill. And as promised with the advent of the Cure3+ the new SLS Cure3+ comes complete with three interchangeable bolt inserts. Stock, it comes fitted with the ramped gas transfer option similar to the one seen in the Ego10. And inside the box, together with the optional trigger, optional Valve Guide and other spares, there are two further bolt inserts: A Muffler design, and a Pepper Pot design. A simple pull and twist of the bolt pin allow access to the bolt insert. Simply fit the one that suits your play the best, then pop the pin back in and get back to the field. It couldn’t be more simple. Of course the rest of the SLS is no less feature laden, with the Zick2 Rammer kit, adjustable OOPS fitted to the T-Railed SL frame, choice of two triggers and two valve guides, adjustable LPR; custom MAC solenoid valve with modified porting and of course the 5-Piece Shaft SL2 barrel kit. As well as the VERY limited run of about 300 SLS (Maximum will be no more than 350) there will also be an exclusive PBNation Owners Badge that you will be able to tag to your user account (Original Owner ONLY)… So you prove your right to be part of the Elite SLS Club..
The New Eclipse SLS. Is there really anything else you could ever need? Empire Paintball has created a Special Edition version of our E-Vent goggle that looks like no other in paintball. We call this design Ink, since we essentially tattooed our current goggle to give it attitude and style. Just like a tattoo, these all-white goggles are a work of art because each one is slightly different from any other. The Empire® E-Vents™ Goggle System is a low profile goggle system designed to present a minimum target. Made of a soft and flexible dual-density material for comfort, the streamlined design keeps you in the game by deflecting glancing paintballs.
The vents are shaped to move exhaled breath through the vents and out the side of the mask. This vent design, along with internal side baffles, prevents warm moist air from crossing the lens to prevent fogging. The soft ear design flexes to accommodate your ear position comfortably and does not compromise hearing.
- Special Edition Ink color pattern
- Sleek, low profile shape
- Excellent ventilation and voice projection
- Optically correct lens for zero sight distortion
- Quick release lens system
- Removable soft ear pieces
- Silicone impregnated adjustable strap to keep the goggle secure
- Includes visor and brow shield
